A Jaded Heart

Dreams die hard and you hold them in your hands long after they've turned to dust.

<sub>So this here is Dragonheart or, as he's more commonly known, Bowen.

Now Bowen was once your typical hardheaded yet good-hearted young stallion; he considered the world a treasure trove of opportunities, and rushed headfirst into any situation just to protect a pretty stranger.

One day, however, this attitude of his got him into trouble. Infact, it got him killed.
A pretty young mare caught his eye, and one day it seemed she was being harassed by a rival stallion. Young, hot-blooded and eager to prove himself, Bo charged off at the older, larger black stallion, and after a swift, bloody battle, the young Bo soon lay still.

And that there should have been the end of his tale. However, as he lay there dying, he perceived a faint pink light from the corner of his eye. There, just out of his line of view, there stood a brilliant white mare, watching him quietly. The mare approached him and, in a soft, strangely deep voice, queried what he would be willing to do, to live again; to have a second chance.

Bo gave his answer, and the white creature seemed to smile sadly before nodding. Bo felt his world shift, turn - dizzying, sickening, confusing, dark...

And then he lived.</sub>

Personality: Bowen is no longer like he once was - now horribly conscious of his own mortality, Bo has lost alot of his act-first-question-later mentality. Cautious, wary, withdrawn - Bo is reluctant to get too close to others, and will fight tooth and nail not to get attached.

With those he loves, he is extremely flighty. His natural instinct to cherish and protect is constantly at war with his newly discovered self-preservation instinct, so he can be doting as anything one minute, and cold and harsh the next.

Deep down, however, he is still the same valiant young stallion who would fight to the death simply to help a defenceless inncoent - he's simply forgotten why such things were once so important to him.

Other Notes: He is constantly cold to the touch, assumedly because he is technically half-dead. He revels in anything that can provide him with warmth - whether it be the sun or a warm body to lay against.
