Personality: Somnus is a battle-hardened veteran, and it shows in every inch of him; from his scarred coat to his one blind eye to the tired way he carries himself. Somnus is a loner in every aspect of the word, and he garners respect without any effort. He never fights with the other horses; he has no need to. Perhaps they knew him back in the army, or maybe it's just some air of untouchableness he carries - nobody ever messes with this old boy. Personality-wise, Somnus is rather jaded and dreary, and he never seems to take much interest in things. The only thing that really gets him fired up is being worked under saddle - at these times, he will perk up and snap to attention, flexing his poor scarred neck and chomping excitedly at his bit. The drows are hoping to work with him and retrain him for modern competition and perhaps even to assist in the sadded rehabilitation of the other more difficult horses.

 Somnus is generally very easy to get along with if you're two-legged, however he is extremely scar-shy. If he thinks you're going for one of his scars, he will bare his teeth and posture, and if you don't heed his warnings he has been known to bite.
