These are all Spanias horses, a beautiful breed of horses cultivated from only the best lines of PRE-Spanish horses and Arabian champions, and infused with odd mixings along the way which lent them their curled manes and feral colours. They have the thickly muscled bodies and necks of the Andalusian, paired with the finely dished face, high tail carriage and elegant neck arch of the Arabian. Their manes are fine and straight, curling slightly at the ends, and the tips of their manes and tails are tinted with a 'shade'; a naturally occurring discolouring of the hairs. Spanias horses come almost exclusively in shades of dun - to see a solidly coloured Spanias horse is very rare. There are a range of unusual coat modifiers in the breed, however they are not very commonly seen.
The Spanias also has two key founding stallions whose lines are easily traced by uniform facial markings passed down through the generations. The first was the marvelous show stallion, Pantom, whose ring-presence and beauty were legend, and whose descendants all carry the classic tear-drop marking he himself carried. The second was Gairash the indomitable, a huge war stallion who was known for his endless bravery and his unwillingness to give up, even in the face of certain doom. His descendants all carry the same eye-spots he himself carried. Horses of these two lines often emulate their founding sires in personality and trait.
