The Dew Gene

Description

So this is a little add-on horse gene that is meant to be 'natural', in that it occurs on realistic horses~

The Dew Gene

As mentioned above, the dew gene has similarities to the White gene, sabino, roan and rabicano - however instead of affecting the coat from the legs or belly up, the dew gene inverts this - displaying markings from the topline down.

The dew gene expresses itself in the mane and tail as a lightening of the roots near the dewy areas.

The genotype of the dew gene is expressed as either nDw or DwDw.

This gene affects both the extension and non-extension bases - essentially, it will always be expressed if carried.

Since this is a genotype rather than a breed, horses carrying the dew gene will have a separate existing breed listed as its breed - the colour description is where the dewed colouring is listed.

Pattern types:

DEW is the most basic expression of the gene - usually expressed with the nDw (heterozygous) genotype. The dew marking is a vague lightening of the topline, like a reversed dorsal stripe, however much wider and wispier.
Dewing only extends about 2 hands beneath the topline at most.

DEWFROST is essentially a heavier version of the Dew colouring. Dewfrost can extend much further down on a horse, and the lightening of the coat is usually far more extensive - often spreading down the slope of the shoulders too. The Dewfrost pattern can reach anywhere from just off the topline, to halfway down the legs, depending on the bloodlines.
Dewfrost can appear in both the heterozygous nDw and the homozygous DwDw.

DEWCANO is an interesting phenomenon that can be found with the dew gene. Essentially, this pattern is a flipped rabicano that stretches down from the topline to form streaks of white across the barrel. Dewcano always starts just behind the shoulder, and from there it can extend to cover most of the back.
Like Dewfrost, Dewcano is found in both nDw and DwDw horses - the strength of the gene will determine just how extensive the patterning is.

This is a free to use gene - you can make horses with this gene if you like~ All I ask is that you follow the simple breeding equations above.

If anybody makes a horse with the dew gene, please link it to me! I'd love to see 8'D

Is it possible for me to use this, the Spectre gene and the sabalino genes on centaurs? I understand if you only want them on horses but they are all really cool genes and I would love to see them on horse based centaurs!
