Linus looked quietly over the pair of fillies in the field, smiling as the babies played together with gentle nudges and playful nips.
It had been a month since they had lost Seorm to childbirth, but things were finally looking up with her little filly. Baby Seorm was already strong and feisty, but still very shy. Linus had immediately realised that, though Ileador was the perfect foster dam, that Itheris would likely be too boisterous and rough of a playmate for young Seorm. As such, he had looked into finding a suitable playmate for the young filly.
A few quick calls to several farms had turned up Narkissa - a young special needs Nordanner filly from a prestigious farm who had just been weaned, and who had been put up for lease in order to further her training. Linus had immediately arranged an appointment to have Narkissa brought to SPaVES, to test out how the two fillies got along.
Though he had been initially unsure upon seeing them next to each other - even with her relative youth, Seorm was already the same height as the pale, slender Narkissa, with added bulkiness to boot. However when introduced, the two fillies soon fell into playing happily, despite their initial shyness.
As the elder, Narkissa was protective of Seorm, easily keeping the younger filly's adopted brother in check with nips and bared teeth whenever he got too rough with either of them. And in turn, Seorm was Narkissa's eyes, her guide to the strange new world around her.
